    Our History

The Wamego Country Club golf course opened in 1920 and the original 9 holes was designed by famed architect Chick Trout. A new nine-holes was opened in 2004 and was designed by Wamego native Eric Langvardt. In 2014 a new hole number one was designed to make way for a driving range, that is open to the public.

The par 70 layout sits on 160 acres and provides 3 sets of tees ranging from 4800-6072 yards. Some people claim Wamego Country Club to be the “hidden gem of the Flint Hills”. The front nine has a traditional country club look, and the back nine provides a player with the need for solid shot making ability. The front nine includes two ponds that can come into play on three different holes. The back nine is tree lined and has a creek that winds through it along with two ponds that comes into play.

Our clubhouse facility is available for private functions. The space is perfect for wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, anniversary parties, retirement parties, special luncheons, corporate meetings, holiday parties and banquets. It is also a great place to relive your round on our patio deck with your favorite beverage as you look out onto the golf course and enjoy the view.
